Electrical Appliance Serviceperson

One-week block course. Holders of the Electrical Appliance Serviceperson registration can service plug-in appliances at voltages up to 230V.

What you will learn

  • You will reach the level required by the Electrical Workers Registration Board for theory examinations and practical assessments
  • Study basic electrical theory for working with equipment up to 230V
  • Complete electrical testing
  • Cover electrical circuits, conductors and insulators
  • Learn earthing arrangements
  • Carry out maintance on single-phase electrical motors

Course requirements

It is recommended that students bring a copy of ASNZ3000:2007, including amendment 1.

You are required to sit an exam on the Saturday morning, following the course.

Courses are run subject to sufficient numbers. Special courses can be arranged for employers with a group of candidates.

 

Electrical Workers Registration Board

EWRB application forms need to be completed and signed for each exam or practical assessment (see documents below). Application forms will only be accepted with payment. Entries received within 14 days of the examination date will incur a late fee of $85.

  • Fee: $923

    Electrical Workers Registration Board fees are additional.

    Exam fee: $85. Practical assessment fee: $85.

    A $30 administration fee applies for students using WelTec as an exam centre only.

International

This programme is not available to international students.
