Electrical Service Technician

Holders of Electrical Service Technician certificate can service three-phase fixed wire appliances up to 400V.

What you will learn

  • This course will instruct applicants to the level required by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) for their theory examinations and practical assessments
  • Study basic electrical theory for working with equipment up to 400V
  • Complete electrical testing
  • Cover electrical circuits, conductors and insulators
  • Learn earthing arrangements
  • Carry out maintance on three-phase electrical motors

Course requirements

It is recommended that students bring a copy of ASNZ3000:2007, including amendment 1.

You are required to sit an exam on the Saturday morning, following the course.

Courses are run subject to sufficient numbers. Special courses can be arranged for employers with a group of candidates.

Electrical Workers Registration Board

EWRB application forms need to be completed and signed for each exam or practical assessment (see documents below). Application forms will only be accepted with payment. Entries received within 14 days of the examination date will incur a late fee of $85.

Applicants must have completed the Electrical Appliance Serviceperson course (previously Electrical Service Technician A).

20+

Applicants must have completed the Electrical Appliance Serviceperson course (previously Electrical Service Technician A).

  • Fee: $923

    Electrical Workers Registration Board fees are additional.

    Exam fee: $85. Practical assessment fee: $85.

    A $30 administration fee applies for students using WelTec as an exam centre only.

International

This programme is not available to international students.
