More about Engineering

Get qualified faster

One of the great things about engineering at WelTec is you can get in, get some skills and get straight out to the workforce.

You can achieve a Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree in three years or national diplomas in two.

You could earn more

Bachelor of Engineering Technology graduates earn up to 10% more than university engineering graduates, amongst graduates with a year’s work experience.

This finding is from research undertaken by the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ).

The higher salary is credited to the increased competition for engineering technology graduates and the practical experience they gain while studying.

Learn exactly what the industry needs

WelTec offers a practical option for studying engineering. You get to build real solutions, models and applications.

You’ll get opportunities to engage with employers and work on industry projects.

Award-winning students

Our students have won national recognition including beating out university candidates to win the IPENZ Ray Meyer medal for Excellence in Student Design for both 2013 and 2014.
